  • Why LCHEC?
"I was a nurse aide at the school district, but was laid off. I wanted to stay in the medical field, so I knew that I either needed to find a job or get additional training. I took three classes at LCHEC - phlebotomy tech training, EKG tech training, and nurse aide training – and got certified in all three. I was then qualified to take the patient care tech exam for certification, which I did. I passed. I have just started interviewing, but this week I had a very successful interview at the local hospital for a nurse aide job. I’m so excited that I will be able to continue to work in the medical field and that I can do so right here in Lampasas. Without the training I received at LCHEC, I do not think that this would be possible. Classes are inexpensive and intensive, so I was able to complete training and not be too long without a job." Glenda Berry

“The Lampasas County Higher Ed Center makes taking my college courses much more convenient.” Madison Henniger, college student

Here's what one Medical Administrative Assistant grad has to say about LCHEC's class with Misty Jordan: "LCHEC was a great choice for me. The evening class was definitely a convenience with work and a new baby. The class was small which I loved because we received more one-on-one time. The teacher also had professional work experience, which is good.

“LCHEC has helped me to prepare for what actual college will be like and has given me a great, convenient opportunity to take college classes and get hours.” Leyna Wittenburg, college student
This is what Lesa has to say about LCHEC Workforce Training:
I have successfully completed the phlebotomy certification, EKG certification, CNA certification at LCHEC and I also successfully passed the patient care tech certification test. I am currently employed at Martin County Hospital in Stanton Texas. I work in the ER, Med surg and admissions. I love it and make excellent money. I wish everyone the best in all the adventures.

Kelly, another Medical Administrative Assistant grad said this, "LCHEC is an outstanding place to attend. All of the staff is very kind and courteous. The classrooms are very open and laid back, and you receive individualized attention. You can get tons of help looking for and applying for jobs even after you have completed the course. If I were to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing!"
